Rural International Contemporary Art l 2026

The project aims to drive community and social development through an interdisciplinary creative process involving Ethnic group artist from Thailand and international, who work directly between agricultural communities to explore, learn, and foster dialogue between art, science, and local ways of life. The work encompasses dimensions, storytelling of communities through media and historical, cultural, and ecological perspectives.
The project seeks to create open spaces for collaboration among artists, scholars, and communities based on “aesthetic dialogue” and interdependence, emphasizing the quality of shared time and expereinces in knowledge creation. It offers practical art spaces in real locations whether farms, agricultural plots, historical sites, or cultural landscapes of the community.
The outcomes of this process will be expressed through the creation of “Living Architecture” and site-specific artworks that connect local stories to a universal language, viewed through the perspectives of artists integrating science, anthropology, and ethnography.
baannoorg#5 aims to build an ecology of knowledge that reflects the idea that “rural areas” are not backward regions but are instead “living laboratories” full of potential for creativity, learning, and mutual development. In this context, art is not merely about beauty; it is a process of communication and mutual understanding, connecting communities, artists, scholars, and audiences through a participatory and sustainable coexistence, serving as both a guide and a practice for sustainable living.
