baannoorg #5
Rural International Contemporary Art l 2026

baannoorg #5 is an international contemporary art festival rooted in long-term collaboration with local communities in rural Thailand. Through artist residencies and interdisciplinary exchange, the project brings together artists, architects, filmmakers, scientists, scholars, farmers, and community members to explore how art can become a space for collective learning, ecological thinking, and everyday coexistence.
This year’s program unfolds through six interconnected platforms: Echo-Wall, Echo-Cam, Echo-Science, Echo-Arch, Echo-Moo, and Echo-Knowledge, creating site-specific works, public spaces, moving images, performances, discussions, and collaborative research developed together with local communities.
Rather than treating the countryside as a peripheral place, baannoorg #5 approaches rural areas as living laboratories where artistic practice, local knowledge, science, and ecology meet.
If you’re working on community-based art, artistic research, or collaborative practices, we’d love to connect and exchange with others across the lumbung network!
